The night will kick off with a compilation of Japan’s whackiest TV game shows (back by popular demand from JFF 2019) and then we’ll watch the Pittsburgh Premiere of RISE OF THE MACHINE GIRLS.

In a lawless district of a future Japan, sisters Ami and Yoshie earn a living performing in fight shows. When a notorious hitman takes notice of the two performers, a union is formed between the three and they plan to fight against the Dharma Family– a ruling family running an organ harvesting ring on the black market. As battle escalates to war, limbs are exchanged for guns, and the sisters’ exceptional skills are tested.

As a reboot of the cult film MACHINE GIRL, one of the most important Japanese exploitation efforts, Noboru Iguchi paired up with up-and-coming director, Yûki Kobayashi, to create this bizarre, action-packed flick – RISE OF THE MACHINE GIRLS

Rarely seen in the US, these shows will make you laugh for sure.  They will also make you question the choices people make.  But the real question is, would you go on one of these shows?
